Understanding the environment in which we operate and minimizing our environmental footprint is critical to maintaining our legal and social license to operate in the country. MOL Pakistan is continuously working on avoiding, minimizing and mitigating environmental impacts in all of our areas of operation. We aim to improve our waste management and emission performance, manage our impact on air emissions, water, and biodiversity, and address any related impact on the environment.MOL Pakistan operates a wide range of oil and gas technologies and equipment, and accordingly, we pay special attention to reducing environmental impacts at different stages in our business and operations. Therefore, we put great emphasis on waste management and continuously take measures in order to reduce the amount of waste generated while maintaining a high rate of waste that is recovered.
Likewise, water resources play an important role in MOL Pakistan’s operations and we consider water scarcity to be a serious issue, and as such have been taking measures to decrease the water demand of our operations.
Biodiversity can be an important challenge for the oil and gas industry in Pakistan, especially in the case of new investments. Even though MOL Pakistan’s activities have relatively low impact on biodiversity we have been implementing local biodiversity protection projects in our areas of operation.
