MOL Pakistan provides free eye camps to local communities in Tal Block
On Thursday, through the company’s implementing partner, Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, MOL Pakistan held a free eye camp at the Government Primary School Bakha Banda located in Tehsil Banda Daud Shah, District Karak. At the school, local communities in the area availed free healthcare from medical teams comprising of specialist doctors, refractionists, and support staff from Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital. Outpatients were given eyeglasses and necessary medicine for free, while more serious cases were transported to the hospital for further inpatient investigation and treatment – all free of cost.
MOL Pakistan, a fully owned subsidiary of MOL Group, has been operating in the country since 1999. The exploration and production company has a long history of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Tal Block. Mr. Ali Murtaza Abbas, MOL Group Regional Vice President for Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan, stated that, “MOL Group is a responsible corporate entity that believes in the betterment of local communities wherever we operate globally. Annually, we arrange numerous free eye camps and free medical camps for communities located in our areas of operation. CSR initiatives such as the free healthcare in these camps are implemented in order to augment the lack of services and resources in the area.”
In a joint statement, the elders of the local communities, thanked MOL Pakistan for its continued CSR initiatives that improve the social welfare and wellbeing of local communities.
